Binnadang-Migrante’s 1st Anniversary Celebrationon Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm , Downsview United Church (Upper Hall), 2822 Keele St. (just north of Wilson Ave.).
With guest speaker Fr. Rex Reyes, Secretary General of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP). He will be in Toronto, Canada to attend a meeting with the Board of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) of the Anglican Church of Canada.
Among the highlights of the event will be a film showing and cultural presentations. BINNADANG (meaning helping each other, or cooperation in English) is an organization of Toronto-based indigenous people from the Cordillera region in the northern Philippines.

Witness to justice and peace in the Philippine solidarity event, is taking place on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, starting at 7pm at the North Minister United Churh, 255 Finch Ave. West (2 blocks east of Bathurst St.)
Ric Jontarciego, Executive Secretary of the Community Ministries of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, will be speaking on the current situation in the Philippines, the life and work of the UCCP and the cost of witnessing to the Gospel and working for justice and peace. Migrant workers will be there to share their own experiences, as well as various community organizations, participating in the forum and speaking about their activities and organizational concerns. This is a free event sponsored by the Intercultural and Social Justice Committees of the South West Presbytery, United Church of Canada.
