Consulate announces April 13 – May 13 overseas voting

The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto enjoins all registered Overseas Voters to exercise their right to vote during the 2013 Philippine Senatorial and Party List Elections which will start on 13 April 2013 and  last until 7:00AM, Monday, 13 May 2013, which coincides with the closing of  the election period in the Philippines (7:00PM, Monday, 13 May 2013).

Overseas Voters registered at the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto may verify if their names are included in the Certified List of Overseas Voters provided by the COMELEC, which is posted on the Consulate’s website, www.philcongen-toronto.com. Voters who have already received their ballot kits may either mail their ballot envelopes to the Consulate or drop them in the ballot box located at the Consular Section of the Consulate during the election period. Voters are reminded to follow carefully the instructions provided in the envelopes in completing their ballot. A list of general instructions on postal voting is also posted on the Consulate’s website.

Registered voters who have not yet received their ballot kits may send an email to consularmatters@philcongen-toronto.com or call at (416) 922-7181 to check whether their ballot kits are routed to the Consulate. Further, the list of voters whose ballot kits were sent by COMELEC through the Consulate and/or returned by Canada Post to the Consulate due to change of address, may also be viewed at the Consulate’s website. Voters are advised to pick-up their ballots personally at the Consulate. Those who prefer to have their ballot kits mailed to them should fax at (416) 922-2638 or email to consularmatters@philcongen-toronto.com a signed letter, stating their complete mailing address and other contact information, with a photocopy of their valid passport.
