Updated field stats

• World Vision’s relief efforts in the Philippines to support victims of Typhoon Haiyan have now reached over 550,000 people in 10 provinces;

• World Vision is providing food, shelter kits, hygiene kits and household supplies, as well as establishing Child-friendly Spaces, where children can play, learn and receive support in a safe environment.

• The major challenges at the moment are shelter, as so many houses remain uninhabitable, and education, as many schools continue to be used as evacuation centres and school books and other supplies were destroyed by the typhoon. World Vision is working with local partners and other agencies to provide assistance in both areas.

• Canadians have donated more than $8.2 million to World Vision Canada to help those in need in the Philippines.
