Poblete receives Rizal Pro Patria Award

Sir George R. Poblete, received the much coveted Rizal Pro Patria Award from Knights of Rizal Supreme Commander, Sir Jeremias ‘Jerry’ Singson in Cleveland, Ohio, during the KOR 5^th USA General Assembly recently. This Patriotic Award is given to an individual by the President of the Philippines to an individual – Filipino or foreigner alike, who has rendered outstanding work in stimulating and encouraging works towards the Rizalian concept of love of country and fulfillment of our duties of citizenship; achieving meritorious individual advancement in the various professions, or promoting, teaching, and disseminating the same through proven competence leading to the general benefit of the individual, the community, and the country at large in the light of Rizal’s teachings and way of life; or promoting and encouraging civic and citizenship responsibility as model citizens, as promulgated by Executive Order No. 429, issued by the President of the Philippines, Carlos P. Garcia, on June 2, 1961.

Poblete holds the degree KGCR, the highest rank awarded to a Knight in the Order of the Knights of Rizal, a fraternal organization whose members aim to  to study, promote and propagate the teachings of Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, and to preserve, honor and revere his memory. The civic , non-sectarian, non-partisan  fraternity, with headquarters in Manila, Philippines, has a membership of about 14,000 from all over the world.
