Walmart introduces Al Premium Food Mart selected to Scarborough North East Supercentre

Walmart’s Scarborough Northeast Supercentre, located at 5995 Steeles Avenue East, will now offer an assortment of international baked goods, meat and seafood products from AI Premium Food Mart, purveyor of foods from 14 different countries all over the world including China, India and the Caribbean.

“We’re thrilled to be offering our customers an even wider selection of foods from all over the world,” said Store Manager Josh Brown. “Of course, our everyday low prices will remain the same but our customers will now enjoy even more favourites in our fresh food department.”

This initiative is part of Walmart’s ‘Store of the Community’ program. Merchants use AC Neilsen and Census data to identify multicultural population clusters around stores and tailor merchandise selections to the specific needs of local communities and customers.

“We are committed to bringing the greatest international selection of foods for local communities,” said Jack Li, President of Al Premium Food Mart. “We recognize the importance to sell food representative of the multicultural landscape of Canada.”

An official launch party will take place on December 18 to celebrate the new offering. Customers are invited to attend the official ribbon-cutting at 8 a.m. and stay to enjoy lion dancing and food sampling.
