PH Heritage Week in Winnipeg

MLA Flor Marcelino joins Friends of Filipino Immigrants in Manitoba at the flag-raising ceremony last Saturday, June 4th. Some 30 Filipino organizations in Winnipeg participated in the opening of a week-long celebration of Philippine heritage.
WINNIPEG–The Philippine Heritage Council of Manitoba (PHCM) through its volunteers, member organizations and sponsors will lead in the celebration of culture, tradition and spirit of community with various activities lined up during the Philippine Heritage Week.
Commemorating the 118th anniversary of Philippine independence, the festivities will start with the flag rasing event on June 4th, 2016 at 8:30 in the morning at the Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba. 737 Keewatin Street, Winnipeg.
As always, the festivities wrap up with a community picnic set for June 12 at Assiniboine Park (south of the Conservatory) at 11 a.m.

This year’s theme of celebration is “CELEBRATING DIVERSITY” (Magkakaiba, Nagkakaisa) with various events and activities set between June 3 to 13, 2016.
