Kababayan Multicultural Centre

It’s the time of the year again when everybody wants to celebrate the season of giving, rejoicing and the birth of Christ.
For some, Christmas is a season of great joy with all the trimmings, decors, gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, turkey dinners with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of “Merry Christmas” to those who pass us in the streets.

Yet for many people, Christmas is a time of emptiness especially the newcomers. They don’t have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmas time when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons.

Because of these mixed emotions, Kababayan Multicultural Centre have thought of this activity which we called “Newcomers’ Christmas Celebration” to fill in the gaps and for them to feel the spirit by celebrating the season together with other newcomers and their families. The party includes singing Christmas carols, dancing, gifts for children and food. The event will be this coming December 20, 2016 from 1-3:00 in the afternoon at Kababayan Multicultural Centre, 540 Finch, Avenue West, North York, Ontario, corner of Finch and Bathurst. Anyone who would like to join and who would like to donate any food items or toys can call 416-532-3888 or 416-633-5056
