Fiipino Canadian Association of Niagara Family Potluck Picnic
FCAN (the Filipino Canadian Association of Niagara) is celebrating its 49th anniversary this year. FCAN is a non-profit, non-religious, non political, social civic and cultural organization for the Filipino-Canadian community of the Niagara Region. It encourages newcomers to contact the Association for “cultural support.” It participates in various events throughout the year in cooperation with the Niagara Folk Arts and Multicultural Centre.
Last July 29, 2017, FCAN held its Family Potluck Picnic at Queenstone Park, Niagara-on-the-Lake. The organization and former NOTL Lord Mayor Art Viola invited The Philippine Reporter staff and family to hold its annual picnic with them this year.
Photo shows some of the officers and members of FCAN, led by its president Augusto Cuyugan; staff and family of The Philippine Reporter, and some of FCAN’s guests, including Rob Nicholson, MP; Wayne Gates, MPP; Kim Craitor, Former MPP; Sen. Tobias Enverga; Consul General Toronto Rosalita Prospero and Vice Consul Bernadette Fernandez.
