Crossover Basketball is now an Ontario Basketball affiliate

Crossover Basketball is now an Ontario Basketball affiliate

Crossover BasketballBy Emar Sy

Four years after its inception Crossover Basketball gained the nod of the Ontario Basketball leadership to be an affiliate club officially today. Coach Mike visited the OBA office to formally accept its affiliation from OBA Executive Director Jason Janson, Clubs and Competition Manager Mike Barbin and High Performance Manager Melo Mallia. It was such an honor and pride to be affiliated with OBA and certainly a move towards the right direction as we align our program with the LTAD for basketball in Canada says Coach Mike.

Crossover Basketball was established in 2013 by Coach Mike, Mr. Abraham Oligane and Adrian Vicencio aimed to help develop young Fil Canadians basketball skills and attitude. It also would like to promote healthy living through the sports of basketball. With one team in 2013 Crossover Basketball has become one of the most organized basketball club in the GTA and surrounding regions. Its basketball program is considered one of the strongest among Filipino ball clubs. It provides Steve Nash Youth Basketball and Team Play Skills clinics to new players and offers house league to intermediate ones. The club also represents Ajax at the North American Basketball Association Inter City tournament and also a founding member of the new and successful Filipino Basketball League of Canada.

Ontario Basketball is the recognized provincial sports organization for Ontario by Canada Basketball mandated to govern and promote basketball for the province. Established in 1977 it has contributed vastly on the development and growth of the sports in the province. It provides various competitions for affiliated clubs that culminates with Ontario Provincial Cup.

OBA welcomes Crossover Basketball and wishes them all the best this season. Crossover Basketball will now schedule tryouts in the coming weeks for its team. Interested players and coaches may contact Coach Mike at 4167958985 or visit their website www.durhamcrossoverbasketball.weebly.com or FB page Durham Crossover Basketball club for news and updates.
