Thanksgiving Mass and Living Rosary at St. Aidan Church in Scarborough

The Block Rosary Crusaders of Toronto celebrated their Thanksgiving Mass at St. Aidan Catholic Church in Scarborough.

This Living Rosary celebration in St. Aidan Catholic Church was led by Flora Vaz with her Goan team of Bridget D’ Souza, Joe Nunez, Peter D’Souza, Jenny Meneses, Evelyn Paul, and Clara Fernandez.
The Block Rosary Crusaders of Toronto was started in Scarborough in October 1982 by a small group of Filipino Families in the Parishes of St. Bartholomew and Prince of Peace in Scarborough. Their main objective is to encourage the Families to pray the Holy Rosary daily together with their families.

Groups were formed so that the statue of the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus could be transferred by the BR Coordinators from one house to the other on weekends. The Block Rosary has grown to 13 groups of 52 families in 35 years of continuously praying the Holy Rosary.

These groups celebrate annual Living Rosary, summer picnics and Christmas party and Anniversary celebration socials; conduct Pilgrimages to Midland Shrine, Fatima Shrine in Lewiston, N.Y., Divine Mercy Shrine in Massachusetts and Shrines/churches in Quebec. They also raised funds to help the poor, children in schools and support typhoon and calamity victims in the Philippines. The Block Rosary Crusade of Toronto is reportedly the oldest most organized Rosary group in Canada.

BR Chairperson Myrna de Leon invites you to join us in their 35th Anniversary Celebration of this Block Rosary Crusaders, which will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Scarborough on Sunday, November 19, 2017.
