TORONTO–Members and guests of The Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) were able to take part in the annual Asian Heritage Month Gala on the night of Sunday, May 27, 2018, held in Richmond Hill, a suburb north of Toronto, Canada.
The Asian Heritage Month Gala celebrated the various Asian groups prominent in the Greater Toronto Area, among them Canadians of Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean descent.
PCCF’s own Executive Vice President, Rosemer Enverga, was one of the VIPs honored in the event, alongside many community leaders in the various Asian communities in the Greater Toronto Area. Other VIPs honored in the event included various city councilors from the municipalities of Toronto, Vaughan, the mayor of Richmond Hill, various MPP candidates running in the neighboring ridings for the Ontario General Election, and Members of Parliament. The most prominent VIP was Andrew Scheer, the leader of the Federal Conservative Party of Canada, who also took photos with the various people in attendance.
After a few remarks from some of the VIPs, and awards honoring various community leaders and partners, there were various dance and song numbers, showcasing the talents of the Asian community. Among the dance numbers were traditional dances from the Philippines, China, Korea, and Vietnam, as well as modern dances to K-Pop, and modern Asian songs.
