On May 22 to June 3, 2018, the Canadian Pool Championship was held in The Cornerbank at 925 Warden Ave. Toronto. Alex “The Lion” Pagulayan, sponsored by Le Spot Billiards and a former World Champion, dominated the 10 ball and 9 ball events. Alex went undefeated throughout the week.
Pagulayan was born in Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines and raised in Toronto. He was only 13 years old when he migrated to Canada along with his parents. It was a tremendous week for Pagulayan. He started off playing Johnny Morra in the finals of 10 ball event with the score of 13-5. Then followed it up with another win on the 9 ball event and bested Tom Theriault with a close match of 15-13 score. His winnings earned him the right to represent Canada to the upcoming World Pool Championship 2018.
