FilCan wins Ontario poster design tilt

Lizzacriz Mae Portodo, Grade 12 Honour Student of St. Joseph’s Morrow Park Catholic Secondary School, TCDSB.
A Filipino Canadian secondary school graduate in Ontario received an Ontario Business Educators’ Association award for winning the “OBEA 2019 Poster Design Contest” in all publicly-funded Catholic and public high schools in the province. The annual competition is conducted to create an excellent image in promoting the Ontario Business Educators’ Association and its mission and programs.
Lizzacriz Mae Portodo, a Grade 12 graduate of St. Joseph’s Morrow Park Catholic Secondary School, an all-girl school in North York within the Toronto Catholic District School Board-TCDSB.
The Ontario Business Educators’ Association, established in 1895, is an “advocate for teachers and students.” OBEA represents teachers and students in the classroom and provincial level and conducts province-wide contests for students taking business subjects.
Lizzacriz, a consistent honour student since her elementary studies at Grace Baptist Christian School in Manila, Philippines, completed her secondary education in Toronto, Canada in June 2019. She won the school’s “Highest Average Academic Grade” award in Grade 12 and is recognized with the prestigious designation: “Ontario Scholar.” She was also awarded with Outstanding Achievements in “Computer Science” and “Computer Technology” courses, “Catholic School Parent Council” award, “21st Century Technology” award and “Skills Canada Video” and “Skills Canada Graphic Design” competition awards as well.
Active in her school extracurricular and church parish activities, Lizzacriz is a good badminton player and computer technology enthusiast. She is the daughter of Antonio Urpiana Portodo and Maria Socorro General-Portado. Lizzacriz is currently working part-time at a Toronto supermarket and has decided to enter university this Fall.
