PHB celebrates 39th Year

PHB celebrates 39th Year

PHB-concert1_editedA hall packed with happy guests and jubilant PHB members marked the organization’s 39th anniversary on October 19.

Held at the Garnet Williams Community Centre, the event was celebrated with a dinner-dance and included a band mini-concert and majorettes presentation also. Consul Edwin Gil Mendoza delivered a congratulatory message from the Consulate General of Toronto. Vaughan dignitaries in attendance included Councillor Sandra Yeung-Racco and hubby, ex-MPP Mario Racco, and Regional Councillor Linda Jackson.

More than a gathering to dine and dance the night away, the event highlighted the noble service PHB does to project a highly visible image of the Filipino community. As a colourful marching band, PHB performs everywhere to celebrate occasions. It is a familiar figure in many high profile events in the GTA, other communities across Ontario, and in many places in the United States. Its members are a mix of volunteer students and adults training and performing together in the spirit of community service. As a consequence of their service and group interaction, they achieve a variety of lifelong skills making them better citizens and better equipped to face life’s challenges.

PHB gratefully thank and acknowledge its regular supporters and new supporters. Just as important to thank and acknowledge is the continuing service of its volunteers.

Parents are invited to bring their child (at least 9 years old) to PHB and benefit from its tried and proven development programs. Recruitment campaign is in full gear. Free instructions to learn a musical instrument (brass, woodwind or marching percussion). Full information at www.phband.com, or email at info@phband.com.

PHB’s super grand 40th anniversary is set for Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Riviera Parque Convention Centre in Vaughan. Tickets may be reserved at info@phband.com.
