An artist celebrates Christmas with Madonna and Child creations
Jojo Sabalvaro-Tan, a multi-talented artist and book author based in Florida, celebrates Christmas her own special way: she paints Madonna and Child images in water colour, prints them as special Christmas cards, and sends them to family and friends, with cheerful greetings from her and husband Rudy Tan.
It has become a tradition she has maintained through the years, that her personally crafted cards have been a constantly awaited item by her admiring fans, always delivered by postal service during this time of the year. One regular recipient of this special treat, a former high school classmate in the University of the Philippines Preparatory School Class 65, frames each card and decorates a wall with Sabalvaro-Tan’s Christmas creations through the years.
The following are among her cards with her own description of her art work:
Sabalvaro-Tan writes a blog (http://passporttocreativity.blogspot.com/) about her art and is the author of two books written and illustrated by her: Passport to Global Cuisine – Exploring the World’s Kitchen with a Watercolor Journal, published October 2020; and Passport to Creativity: Exploring the World with a Watercolor Journal, published in 2014.
