Interview with Marc and Mariel Buenaventura (owners of Islas BBQ & Bar) comment on the first Pinoy Night Market ast StreetEats in Scaborough.
The Philippine Reporter: In your opinion, how did the event go as the first Pinoy Night Market?
Mark and Mariel Buenaventura: The Pinoy Night Market 2022 was a huge success. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received for the three-day event, considering that Sunday was supposed to rain and yet there was still a line-up even before we opened the market.
TPR: How successful was it in terms of being profitable and the attendance/reach?
MMB: The Pinoy Night Market 2022 was planned in a little over two months, April 2022. Our team (Pinay Tayo with the help of iSLAS and StreetEats) would have been happy to have at least 2000-3000 attendees for the three days event.
However, we were shocked that our pre-sold early bird tickets already surpassed our sales ticket target and even more people showed up by the door. StreetEats staff even commented that they never seen that amount of crowd for the last two years.
