Vancouver couple marks 38th wedding anniversary in home country
For a Vancouver-based Filipino-Canadian couple, Florante and Anita (Cookie) Aytona, celebrating their 38th anniversary with their son’s growing family in the home country was a gift.
It was for them a blessing, as it gave them the simple joy of being with their Canadian son Aron, who had decided to build his family home and his now thriving business in Manila. (The Aytonas have another married child, Loren, who lives with her husband and daughter in Vancouver.)
Florante, a University of the Philippine Preparatory School 65, and UP graduate, is currently a marketing director for World Financial Group. Cookie is a high school teacher and president of the UP Alumni Association in British Columbia.
As active members of their church and civic community in Vancouver, the couple who love to immerse themselves in fitness and nature activities during their free time, thought it best to spend summer 2022 with their son’s fast growing family, especially with grandkids Evan, Audrey, Simon and Tiffany.
Aron is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and Director, Southeast Asia, for Global Education Alliance, an International Education Consulting Company. GEA has offices in Vancouver and Manila. He helps clients with their Canadian immigration and visa matters.
Aron is married to Sharon, a CPA and President of Thinktank Professional Services, a Philippine based Tax and Accounting Firm. — M.A.G
